Engaging community to show the impacts of
climate on health
The Climate Health Lab is a diverse team with a shared mission to research how climate can effect all aspects of health
What We Are Doing
Our first project is funded by the Gulf Research Program of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in cooperation with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. With this project we aim to:
Build Maps that Tell the Story of How Climate Effects Mental Health
These maps will tell the story of what has happened since 1980 and going forward to 2050.
Integrate Lived Experiences into this Story
We will include stories of how successive natural disasters have impacted individuals.
Create a Community Owned Dashboard
The community partners that are working with us on this project will be the hosts of the final dashboard that is created with both the maps and individual stories.
“I want to create a resource for community members, give them an opportunity to come together, find comfort in one another and realize that they aren’t going through this alone.”
